The game

Tens Builder Place value to 1001st and 2nd grade

Tens Builder: At a building site, kids build numbers with tens rods and ones cubes, then read numbers the blocks show. It starts with numbers to 20 and goes to 100. A miss labels the blocks and says to count the tens first, then the ones.

Practice it at home

Count a pile of coins or beads by making groups of ten first, then counting the tens and the leftovers.
