What your kids see
After your kid taps their picture, they land on their own home screen. Everything on it is for them, and it’s built to be tapped without reading. Here’s what’s on it, from top to bottom.
Their character card
The card at the top says hi by name and shows their picture, with a few things that only ever go up:
- Level: every 5 stars they earn, anywhere, takes them up a level. A bar shows how close the next one is.
- ⭐ Stars earned, 🏠 places built in their valley, and their 🔥 streak (days in a row they’ve played).
- Smarts: a meter for each subject that fills as they earn stars in it.
Their valley
Below the card is their valley: a little island with a neighborhood for each subject. Their animal walks around and says something cheerful. Every game is a spot in the valley, and it grows as they earn stars:
- An empty spot, before they’ve played
- A sign goes up with their first star
- It gets built with two stars on a level
- It comes alive with flags and sparkles at three stars
Kids can tap a spot to walk there and play its game, or tap Open big to explore the whole valley. The sky celebrates streaks and the seasons change with the calendar. Older devices that can’t show the 3D valley just skip it and show the games.
Today’s mix
The 🎲 Today’s mix card lists the 3 games picked for today, with a dot for each one finished. When all 3 are done it turns into a 🏆 and says to come back tomorrow. More on the mix in During a game.
Keep playing
Once they’ve played a few games, the ones they played most recently sit here for one-tap return.
All the games
A row of subject buttons (Math, Reading, Social studies, Science, Coding, Music and art) switches between shelves of games. Each tile shows the game’s picture and name, and once they’ve played it, their stars on that level.
- Games for your kid’s grade come first. The rest are under More (subject) games.
- 🔒 on a tile means the game needs a plan. Tapping it goes to the plans page, which asks for your PIN.
- New! marks a game Founding Families get to play 14 days before everyone else.
- Without a plan, a small Grown-ups note at the bottom points to the plans.
The top bar
On kids’ screens the top bar only has Playing: (name) to switch players and a 🔒 Parents link that asks for your PIN. There’s no Sign out button here on purpose.
