What to expect
Sticker Valley is 72 short learning games for kids in kindergarten through 3rd grade. A few minutes of practice a day, at the right difficulty for your kid, with a reward that grows out of the learning itself.
What your kid does
- Plays short rounds. A round is 10 problems and usually takes a few minutes.
- Hears the questions. 53 of the 72 games read their questions aloud: every game outside math, and 12 of the 31 math games. The other math games are built on pictures to count and compare. Kids who aren’t reading yet can play the read-aloud games on their own.
- Practices at their level. Each game moves your kid up when a level gets easy and back when it’s too hard.
- Builds a valley. Every star they earn becomes a sticker and grows a place in their own little valley.
About ten minutes a day is plenty. The easiest routine is Today’s mix: 3 quick rounds the app picks for your kid each day, so you don’t have to decide what to practice.
Subjects
Games cover math, reading, social studies, science, coding and music and art. Each subject is a neighborhood in your kid’s valley: Number Farm, Story Village, Town Square, Discovery Woods, Robot Workshop and Art Meadow. When you give your kid a grade, games for that grade come first.
What you won’t find
- No ads, no coins, no shop and nothing to buy inside the games.
- No chat, no other players, and no leaderboards or comparing kids.
- Nothing wilts or gets taken away for missing a day. Progress only goes up.
- No camera, microphone or location. Kids never type anything about themselves.
What it is (and isn’t)
Sticker Valley is daily practice that sits alongside school. It isn’t a full curriculum, it doesn’t teach open-ended writing (that can’t be scored fairly), and it’s made for kindergarten through 3rd grade for now.
What you’ll need
- A tablet, phone or computer with a web browser. There’s nothing to download, though you can add it to a home screen like an app.
- Sound on. Most games talk, so turn the volume up or use headphones.
- An internet connection. If it drops mid-game, your kid can keep playing and the next finished round tries to save again.
Your kid’s information
For each kid we keep a first name or nickname, a picture they pick from our animals, an optional grade, and how their rounds went. The pages and games kids use send nothing to our analytics. The Privacy Policy has the details, and you can ask us anything at [email protected].
