Weigh It Heavier and lighter, ounces and pounds, cups and gallons, grams and liters1st grade to 3rd grade

Weigh It: At a farmers' market stall, kids use a balance to tell heavier from lighter and to balance it. Then they pick sensible units: ounces or pounds, cups or gallons, grams or liters.

Practice it at home

Hold two things, one in each hand, and guess which is heavier. Check with a kitchen scale if you have one.
